Plymouth University and the Handcycle Project

We were recently approached by our customer Plymouth University about an exciting project they are working on and we were asked whether we would like to support them on their challenge. When we saw what they were trying to achieve we were delighted to say ‘yes’.

So what is this exciting project?

In September 2015 and in conjunction with the Hand Cycling Association UK charity (Reg no: 1096646) a team from Plymouth University and their pilot, world-class handcyclist Liz McTernan, will be travelling to Battle Mountain in Nevada, USA to attempt the world human powered speed record.

The team will be taking their own handcycle, which Engineering students (past and present) have been carefully crafting for the past three years.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to support their project, the passion to strive for perfection and to achieve their goal is one we all relate to and we look forward to seeing them bring home their world record in September.

For more information and to track their progress of the world record attempt you can follow the official Handcycle blog here

Good luck to the whole team – we are behind you all the way.
