Sunrise today announces that Jersey based wealth management group Abacus has purchased Sostenuto ITSM. One of the world’s leading independently owned financial services companies, Abacus will be using Sostenuto to support its implementation of ITIL (The IT Infrastructure Library) and BS15000.
The Technology Department within Abacus is responsible for the project management, application development and technical support to 400 users based in Jersey, Guernsey, London, Cheltenham and Edinburgh. Since the department launched its ITIL project just over a year ago it has come a long way in defining and integrating these processes into its way of working. Sostenuto’s purpose is to automate these processes to manage incidents, problems, changes, configuration items, SLAs, contracts and third party suppliers. Sostenuto will fulfil a similar purpose in the context of BS15000, helping the team to deliver one of the standard’s primary requirements to set up a configuration management database that automates elements such as the software library.
“The fact that Sostenuto ITSM is built around an ITIL framework was a decisive factor for us, said Service Delivery Manager Neil Merritt. Having an advanced out of the box solution that allows you to easily create associations between the different elements of the system, such as incidents, problems and contracts is a great starting point, however beyond that, the fact that it is hugely configurable means that it will assist us with the process improvements required by ISO 9000.”
In addition, the software’s browser based architecture means that deployment is very simple, which also impacted Abacus decision.
ITIL and BS15000 are expected to deliver clear benefits all round. As well as significantly enhancing the company’s profile with customers, it will also allow Technology to demonstrate that it is maximising business resources whilst setting high standards in its service to other departments. As a customer using client server solution Enterprise, Abacus already had a good relationship with Sunrise as a supplier. “Our experience of Sunrise has been excellent, said Merritt. Now they are offering us a solution that steals a march on its competitors because it is not only specifically built around the ITIL framework, but it also offers configurability and a browser based architecture.”
