News Release
Landesbank Baden Wurttemberg (LBBW), the largest regional bank in Germany, has announced that it is using Sunrise’s Sostenuto as part of a major IT improvement drive.
Chessington, UK – 26 October, 2006. The largest Landesbank (regional bank) in Germany has announced it is using Sostenuto from Sunrise as part of an IT improvement drive based around the ITIL framework.
Landesbank Baden Wurttemberg (LBBW) is using the web-based service desk product at its IT hub in London to support key UK banking systems.
Incident Management and Change Management are currently being managed by Sostenuto, and the system is being populated with contract management information which once complete will offer “huge benefits.
Early improvements as a result of the implementation include gaining a clear understanding of the systems causing the most calls (in some cases proving to be the complete opposite of the perceived problems), the ability to hold suppliers accountable, and reports which are described by the Head of IT, James Clear, as very impressive. Sostenuto efficiently manages all the important information and allows continuity of service to the LBBW users.
Channa Wijeratne, IT Production Manager, here describes another major benefit. We had a policy where all non-business related web sites are blocked and have to be approved for viewing by the service desk. We have created a template in Sostenuto to deal with these queries and by tracking this, discovered that these calls amount to a very high percentage of total calls. Thanks to this statistic, which shows the high cost of this security policy, a new policy was created and implemented, which allowed greater freedom, but at the same time keeping effective controls to monitor internet usage.
Now that the worth of the system is proven, LBBW plans to use its release and change capabilities to further manage the development of new systems.
LBBW is the fourth largest German bank, with 12,500 employees in the group and is in the top 50 worldwide credit institutions. The head office is in Stuttgart, and there are also offices in various global locations.
